Luis is a first-year graduate student in the I/O Psychology program at SFSU. He obtained his bachelors in psychology and a minor in business at San Jose State University. While undergoing his undergraduate studies, Luis primarily worked at Tesla’s Fremont Factory as a test-driver and an assembly line production associate. His I/O research interests include AI, training and development, person analytics, and employee motivation. In his free time, Luis enjoys playing video games, watching movies, and going out for a run.

Sarah Brauer (Cognitive Psychology) Fall 2023 Sarah is a third year Cognitive Psychology masters student in the Mind, Brain, Behavior program at SFSU. She is interested in the mechanistic and neurological underpinnings of conscious and unconscious processes, especially in habituation of involuntary conscious cognitions. During her undergraduate studies at SFSU, Sarah was a research assistant in the Motivation and Emotion research laboratory, and in the Stress, Trauma, and Resilience laboratory, which both have a clinical emphasis. Prior to SF State, Sarah had her own esthetics business. She will graduate in Spring of 2024. |
Ray Hamilton (Clinical Psychology) Fall 2023 Ray is a first year Clinical Psychology master’s student at SF State. Ray graduated with their BA in psychology from San Diego State University in 2020. During their time at SDSU, Ray presented at the student research symposium, became a member of a Peer Educators program, and volunteered as a research assistant at the UCSD OCD research clinic. Ray would love to work with students that have struggled with the transition to college/adulthood in general because of their own lives experience with these issues. |
Sean Hennigan (Social Psychology) Fall 2023 Sean started his master's in Psychology with a concentration in Social, Personality, and Affective Sciences in the Fall of 2022. He graduated from Saint Mary's College of California in 2021 and has since worked as a Research Associate at the University of California, San Francisco researching game-based learning as a means of increasing career self-efficacy and parent-child communication. Currently, he is involved in the Personality & Well-Being lab at SFSU where he is conducting research related to LGBTQ+ well-being and relationship satisfaction. He hopes to graduate in the Spring of 2024. |
Mackenzie Hernandez (Social Psychology) Fall 2023 Mackenzie is a Social, Personality, and Affective (SPA) Psychology 1st-year master's student at SFSU. She began her graduate school journey at SF State in the Fall of 2023. After 3.5 years at Sacramento State, Mackenzie obtained their bachelor's degree of arts in psychology in the Winter of 2022. On their off time, Mackenzie enjoys reading, walking their cat, meditating, crocheting, and lap swimming. However, she usually spends her day either in one of the SPA Labs or the library. Their current interests of choice are Grillo's Pickles, $uicdeboy$, Kundalini healing, Basquiat, Santeria, and Bluey. After obtaining their master's of arts degree in SPA psychology, Mackenzie plans to pursue their PhD in social psychology. She is most fascinated by the macabre, serendipity, and the power of the mind. |
Jennifer Alvarado (I/O Psychology) Fall 2023 Jennifer is a first-generation graduate student pursuing her master's in I/O Psychology at SFSU. She received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in management and leadership from Cal Poly Pomona in Spring 2023. Her current research interests include employee motivation, training and development, and employee health and safety. She is currently looking for an internship in Human resources. Outside of school, Jennifer enjoys being in nature, going to the gym, and exploring new coffee shops. She plans to graduate in Spring 2025. |
Kassidy Martinez (I/O Psychology) Fall 2023 Kassidy started her masters in I/O Psychology at SFSU in Fall 2023. She received her B.A. in psychology from Humboldt State University. She currently assists in Dr. Eschelman's lab as a research assistant. Her interests within I/O psychology include job burnout, work/life balance, and other mental health-related topics in the work environment. Before coming to SFSU, she worked as a substitute teacher and behavior interventionist. She plans to obtain an internship relating to I/O psychology for her second year of graduate studies. She plans to graduate in Spring of 2025. |
Monica Thuy Tran (I/O Psychology) Fall 2023 Monica is a first-year I/O psychology graduate student at SFSU. Her research focus includes AI, virtual environments, group dynamics, and communication. Her ultimate goal is to enhance research-based decision-making for a more sustainable and profitable work culture in Fortune 500 companies. Monica strongly believes those in leadership roles are responsible for developing the knowledge and skills to bring out the maximum potential of their employees so she's driven to continually refine the skills needed to foster environments that promote growth. During her free time, Monica enjoys practicing martial arts, running, and camping. She will graduate in Spring 2025. |
Nicolo Tocchini (I/O Psychology) Fall 2023 Nico is a first year student in the I/O psychology master’s program. His research interests are integrating the study of personality and how it relates to training in the workplace. After his master’s Nico plans on pursuing a PhD. He is excited to be part of the muse program and offer some insight for undergraduate students interested in pursuing graduate school. He will graduate in the spring of 2025. |
Nishka Vipul (I/O Psychology) Fall 2023 Nishka is a first year I/O Psychology graduate student at SFSU. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in cognitive science at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research interests include DEI, organizational change, leadership training and development, and employee wellbeing. She is passionate about mental health and works as a mental health coach. She hopes to work in consulting for companies and eventually, for non-profits. Her hobbies and interests include dancing, reading, and spending time in nature. |
McGyver Ye (I/O Psychology) Fall 2023 McGyver is a first-year student in the I/O Psychology masters program at SFSU. He received his bachelor's degree in Psychological Science with a minor in Digital Information Systems at the University of California, Irvine. His research interests include technology in personnel management, attention span, and how personality impacts recruiting decisions, group cohesion, leadership, and success in the workplace. He plans to graduate in the Spring of 2025. |
Julie Zhu (I/O Psychology) Fall 2023 Julie is a first-year international graduate student in the I/O Psychology master’s program at SFSU. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Toronto in 2022. Her current research interests include talent management, employee well-being, and implementing technology at work. Outside of school, she loves to travel and explore for good food. She plans to graduate in the Spring of 2025. |
Jenn Yow (Developmental Psychology) Spring 2023 - Current Jenn is earning her master's degree in the Developmental Psychology concentration after graduating in 2022 with her B.A. in Psychology through the blended B.A./M.A. SF Scholars Program at SFSU where she also worked in the PWB Lab as an Undergrad RA. Her research interests include: socioemotional development and relationships; behavioral and substance addiction; the mind-body connection; and the utilization of mindfulness practices to foster physical and mental health and well-being over the Lifespan. |
